KannenBright is a multi-disciplinary, peer-reviewed journal produced by a committee of undergraduate students at Concordia University’s Department of Theological Studies.  We accept scholarly articles, poetry, reflection pieces, fiction, and visual art from students and faculty within the department. We also welcome submissions from other disciplines, both within and beyond Concordia.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

1. General Information

All submissions to be considered for publication in KannenBright are to be sent to:

kanbri@alcor.concordia.ca

With each submission and in email correspondence, please include the author’s last name, title, address, email address, and phone number.

**Please note that all submissions are subject to peer review and editorial modification.

2. Formal Requirements

Submissions may be in English or French and must be typewritten, double-spaced, 12-point font.

Submissions should follow the Chicago Manual of Style: Chicago Manual of Style.  15th ed. Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 2003.

Scriptural references should be in parentheses in the text.  All other documentation should be in footnotes, not endnotes.  Quotations of five or more lines should be indented and without opening and closing quotation marks.

Every work cited requires a bibliographically complete first reference.  Subsequent references may be abbreviated by the author’s last name, short title, and page number.

Respect for accuracy in verbatim quotations demand that spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and abbreviations of the original be reproduced exactly, even if they differ from the style of the journal.  Should a quotation contain an error, this may be indicated by [sic], at the author’s discretion.

3.  Integrity of Submissions

All submissions must be properly cited and free of plagiarism.  The author is responsible for the scholarly integrity of any submission. 

The submission cannot have been previously published, nor can it be before another journal for consideration (or an explanation must be provided to the Editor).

Copyright Notice:
The editors will not consider submissions that are under consideration by other publishers.  It is assumed that once you have submitted an article to this journal, it will not be sent to other publishers until a decision about inclusion has been made.  Only by special arrangement will the editors consider previously published material.
